ANNUAL MEETINGS

About LSA Annual Meetings

Annual Meetings are a central aspect of LSA’s activities, providing an unparalleled opportunity for Law & Society scholars to connect and exchange ideas. This year’s conference includes informal discussions across disciplines and theoretical traditions as well as more traditional exchanges like paper presentations, roundtable discussions, and “Author Meets Reader” panels.

GLOBAL CONNECTIONS

LSA meetings are international in scope, hosting participants from over 60 countries and across 6 continents. This diverse engagement facilitates cross-national research connections and helps our scholars expand their research perspectives.

Approximately every five years, LSA hosts its International Meeting. Previous international meetings have been held in Amsterdam (1991), Glasgow (1996), Budapest (2001), Berlin (2007), Honolulu (2012), Mexico City (2017), and Lisbon (2022).

International Annual Meetings are often co-hosted by regional associations, such as the Research Committee on the Sociology of Law (RCSL), the Canadian Law and Society Association, the Japanese Association of Sociology of Law, and the Socio-Legal Studies Association (UK).
