Amy Cohen is the inaugural holder of the Robert J. Reinstein Chair at Temple University Beasley School of Law and honorary professor at the Faculty of Law and Justice, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She is a sociolegal scholar of disputing and law and development. She has previously served as the John C. Elam/Vorys Sater Professor of Law at the Ohio State University, as well as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She is currently admitted to the practice of law in New York State.

Professor Cohen obtained her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she served in an editorial capacity for the Negotiation Law Review and the Human Rights Journal. She received her B.A. in History & Hebraic Studies from Rutgers University. She has been a reviewer for a wide range of journals over the years, such as Law & Social Inquiry, Socio-Economic Review, Cultural Anthropology, Regulation and Governance, Political and Legal Anthropology Review, European Journal of International Law, and the Canadian Journal of Law and Society. She is a past organizer for CRN 55: Law and Political Economy.
