2012 LSA INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The International Prize was established by the Law and Society Association in 1999 and was first awarded in 2001. It is offered biennially to a scholar, normally resident outside the United States, in recognition of scholarship that has contributed significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field of law and society. It is not a book prize, but is given in recognition of a body of scholarly work. Neither is it a career achievement award; however, at least some portion of the work for which the award is given should have been completed within the past few years. The prize includes a certificate and up to $500 travel reimbursement to attend the meeting where Association prizes are presented. The 2012 prize will be awarded at the 2012 International Conference on Law and Society, to be held June 5-8 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu, Hawai‘i.

The Committee to select the 2012 recipient includes Yves Dezalay, chair (CNRS, Paris), Stephen Meili (University of Minnesota), Arzoo Osanloo (University of Washington), Alison Dundes Renteln (University of Southern California), César Rodríguez-Garavito (University of the Andes), and Teemu Ruskola (Emory University).

A nomination should include the following information in about 500 to 1,000 words:

(a) biography;

(b) general scholarly contributions to the law and society field and activities in the Law and Society Association;

(c) list of publications in the past few years.
