TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL FOR AN "ASSIGNED" INDIVIDUAL PAPER

Note: AllAcademic, a third-party vendor, manages the submission site for electronic proposal submissions. There are a number of advantages, both for the program organizers and participants, in using this service. Their software generates automated emails to acknowledge your log-in and submissions and will include important information.  These emails will have “@allacademic.com” as the return address. Please take care to assure that they are not captured in your spam-filter.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES:

LOG-IN: Go to the Law and Society Association website. Click on “User Services” in the menu. Log in if you already have an account. If you do not have an account, click on “New Visitor Registration.” If you don’t know if you have an account or have forgotten your password (and the “Forgot Password” function didn’t work for you), email Judy Rose rose@lawandsociety.org. Do not create a second log-in account

Fill out or update your profile, indicating as primary an email address that will remain current through the dates of the meeting.

TO SUBMIT THE PROPOSAL:

(1) Log-In to LSA User Services

(2) From the Menu, Click on—"Proposal Submission Site"

(3) Click on—Submit a New Proposal

(4) Click on—Submit a Proposal Now

(5) Click on—“Paper,” (from Individual Proposal section) to bring up form

(6) Click on—the “Assigned Paper” button

(7) Fill in the “Session Tracking Number” in the field provided.

Your Session Organizer will supply this number.  You cannot proceed without it.

(8) Enter the Paper Title and Abstract (400-500 words) in the appropriate fields

(9) Select Keyword(s) descriptive of the paper’s topic in order of relevance to the paper topic (keyword #1 should be most relevant).

(10) Click on—Accept and Continue

(11) Add ALL co-authors, (all must be listed for the printed Program).

Use the Search mechanism to find your co-author in the submission database. If his/her name does not come up, your co-author needs to log into the LSA "User Services" site. After logging in, your co-author can then click on the link to the Proposal Submission Site (in the left menu), and their name will be drawn into the submission site immediately.  If they do not click on that, it will take "overnight" for their information to be drawn in. You will then be able to add them.

If a co-author will not be presenting or will not be attending the meeting, indicate “non-presenting” author. The author(s) that will present the paper should be marked “presenting.”

There must be at least one “presenting” author. A paper must be presented by an author of that paper.

(12) Click on—Accept and Continue

(13) AV Equipment page

Select AV equipment--must be selected before February 28th. Select “None” if no AV equipment is required. If you select “other,” describe your needs in the note field provided. LSA will contact you if this equipment is/not available.

(14) Click on—Accept and Continue

(15) Review submission page; edit as needed; print this page before continuing

(16) Click on—Save Paper

The author/submitter will receive an automated acknowledgment email. If you do not receive an acknowledgment email, contact the LSA Executive Office. Email Judy Rose: rose@lawandsociety.org
