B. Number of Allowed Participations

Participants are limited to:
a) ONE participation as a Paper Presenter OR a Roundtable Participant.
b) TWO additional appearances as a Chair and/or Discussant on a panel.

Participation as a Session Chair and presenting a paper in the same session counts as one participation.
Participation as a Chair and/or Discussant on a panel counts as one participation.

Exemptions: Participants will be allowed ONE exempted additional appearance on a Program Committee sanctioned Author Meets Reader session OR on a plenary, service session, or other special event solicited and/or authorized by the Program Committee Chairs. For all other requests, there will be no exception to the rule.

For “non-presenting” paper co-authors: it will not count as a participation if they do not sit on the session panel and present the paper (select “non-presenter” when the co-author is added to a paper).

It is expected that you will allow your name to be added to the program only in accordance with these limitations. You will be required to withdraw participations that exceed the limit. We appreciate your cooperation.

C. AV Requests

AV Equipment.  If you are a Paper Author, Roundtable organizer, or Book session organizer, you must reserve AV equipment by February 29 directly on the proposal submission form (page 3the AV page).  LCD Projectors (with screen) and DVD players (with monitor) are available.
LCD projectors (and monitor) will be available in all meeting rooms.  Use of an LCD projector will require that the user bring a laptop (these are not provided); Mac users should bring an adaptor.  Some tablets are capable of connecting with an LCD projector.  Check with your manufacturer/dealer about connectivity equipment requirements.

AV technical help is usually limited, so users should know or learn before the meeting how to operate the equipment they request.  If several on your panel wish to use the LCD projector, we suggest loading all presentations onto one panelist’s laptop before the meeting..
Presentations should be prepared in a font viewable by audience members with sight impairment.
Overhead projectors and wireless internet will not be available in the meeting rooms.

Please note that remote participation in a session is not allowed.  An individual must be at the meeting in order to make a presentation.

If you have questions about AV equipment, or require equipment other than what is listed on the AV portion of the submission form, check with the LSA office: rose@lawandsociety.org

D. Volunteer as a Session Chair and/or Discussant

Panels assembled from individual paper proposals by the Program Committee require assignment of Chairs and Discussants. The Program Committee invites you to volunteer for these roles.

Follow the instructions above for submitting a proposal through #4 (in section A).  Then:

5) Click on the menu item for volunteering.

6) Fill out the form and please indicate what languages you speak.

E. Participation on a Roundtable, Author Meets Reader session, or as a Chair and/or Discussant on a Paper Session

For any of the above roles, your session organizer will add you to the session. Please tell the session organizer if you already have an established log-in account at the User Services site. If you do not have an account in User Services site, create one. (Check with Judy Rose rose@lawandsociety.org if you are unsure about having an account.)

Check your personal contact information for accuracy. If you have not been in your User Services profile for some time, please check your information for accuracy.

Check your Email Address for Accuracy. The email in your log-in account will be used to contact you regarding acceptance of your participation. Be certain it is correct and will remain current through the dates of the meeting.

F. Proposal Acceptance

The Preliminary Program will be posted online in early March, and you will be notified by email to view the program.

Your listing in Preliminary Program constitutes your acceptance. No further communication confirming acceptance of your proposal will be emailed/mailed. If you do not find yourself listed, or if there are inaccuracies in your listing(s), contact Judy Rose right away.

It is your responsibility to check the Preliminary Program when it is posted in March to determine that your participations are listed accurately. Be certain you have not exceeded the above stated Allowed Participations Limits. If you exceed the allowed number of participations, you will be asked to withdraw those exceeding the allowed limit. The Program will be updated regularly until the final changes deadline.
