Arriving by Air

Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is the closest major airport; it is approximately 9 miles south of the city, and a 15-20 minute shuttle or taxi ride to the hotel. Three other airports can also be used: Reagan National (DCA) is approximately 45 miles to the south; Dulles (IAD) is about 30 miles further west; and Philadelphia’s airport (PHL) is south of that city and approximately 80 miles from Baltimore, but a fast 90 minute drive down I-95.

The BWI website is http://www.bwiairport.com. The BWI text-based site is at http://www.bwiairport.com/textsite.htm.

Shuttle: The "SuperShuttle" company is offering a discount on the regular round trip fare to meeting attendees. With the SuperShuttle coupon (print and clip), the round trip fare is $18 (without coupon, $22). The Super Shuttle kiosk is in the baggage claim area, and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily. At other times call the dispatcher (at 1-800-BLUEVAN or 1-800-258-3826). You do not need a reservation unless you require a wheelchair accessible van (not all vans can accommodate wheelchairs).

General Driving Directions to Baltimore and the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel

See Mapquest or Google Maps–but here are a few tips:

From the North: South on the New Jersey Turnpike, which, initially, is also I-95. However, do not follow I-95 when it veers west to Philadelphia. Follow the Turnpike to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, the Delaware Turnpike, and then, as you reach the Maryland line, I-95 again. Follow I-95, which circles Baltimore on the east and connects with I-395, which takes you to the Inner Harbor. OR, from I-95, take the Baltimore Beltway, I-695, west towards Pikesville. Turn south on I-83, the JFX Expressway. Follow it to where it ends on President Street, then turn right on Aliceanna.

From the South: Proceed north on either I-95 or 295, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Both will get you to Russell Street and the Stadiums, then follow directions as above.

From the West: Connect with I-70 eastbound, which ends at the Baltimore Beltway, I-695. Turn right (south) on 695, then connect with I-95 north, and proceed into the city as above.
