The Law and Society Association is pleased to announce the nineteenth annual Graduate Student Workshop, Challenges to Social Science in the Law and Society Paradigm, to be held July 4 - 5, immediately preceding the 2006Annual Meeting of the Law and Society Association in Baltimore, Maryland. We invite applications from graduate students in any field and advanced law students whose scholarly interests include sociolegal studies.

This year's planning committee includes: Lisa Hajjar, chair (University of Santa Barbara), Paul Amar (University of California, Santa Barbara), Davina Cooper (University of Kent), Katharina Heyer (University of Hawai’i), Gary Rowe (University of California, Los Angeles), and Austin Sarat (Amherst College).
About 40 students will be selected to participate in the Workshop, with the Law and Society Association offering a reimbursement to help offset travel costs (receipts required) of up to $200 for students within North America, or $400 for students outside North America.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of not more than three pages describing their dissertation or other research interests, their current status in graduate school, and how they might benefit from attending the Workshop.
